So wrong, but so funny 😀

    1. Thanks! 🙂 There I was eating an egg and this came to me in a vision. That’s when I stopped eating.

    1. My advice? When eating an egg try not to think about what it really is.

  3. What I find inconsistent in the “Pro-Life” movement is that many of them are also for the death penalty. The other side’s no more consistent, of course–they feel it’s immoral to put to death a criminal, but perfectly okay to terminate a fetus.

Personally, I am TRUE pro-life (anti-abortion, anti-death penalty), but I recognize that at least half the country feels differently than I do about both issues. These are big-ticket issues, and I think that people are right to have strong opinions on them. I just wish we wouldn’t get so screamy at each other.

    1. I take exception to several realities of the pro-life movement. And, for the record, this comic isn’t picking on pro-lifers. It’s a joke about what’s really inside of an egg. I call them “chicken fetuses.”

I take exception to a fertilized egg being called a “person” or “child” or “baby.” On the other hand, I don’t see anything wrong with a ban on late term abortions. I feel there’s nothing wrong with abortion as long as it is done early. 20 weeks is the same as five months and that just seems wrong. Even in cases of rape and incest, isn’t there time to take action earlier?

On the death penalty, I’m slightly in favor. Mainly in cases where there’s no doubt. A four percent mistake rate is totally unacceptable. For example, a case like Jared Loughner, the man who shot Congresswoman Giffords and killed the girl born on Sept. 11, 2001. There is absolutely no doubt he did it. To me, it’s not about deterrence or punishment or vengeance. It’s simply saying, “We don’t want you around any more.”

I do think in cases where innocence is proclaimed and evidence is more circumstantial in nature, the death penalty should be off the table. I think it is that important that we be sure.

I understand that people can have a different positions on things like the death penalty and abortion. That should be okay. If we were all the same you’d all be me and vice versa. It’s a good thing that’s not the case. 🙂
